Tamworth Football Club
Ready for a day jam-packed with family fun? Then head to our Annual Charity Football Tournament in aid of local causes. Last year, we held a very similar and successful tournament for a good friend. Anne-Marie Purslow, was a life-long Blues fan and well loved member for the Tamworth community. She suffered with an extremely rare condition called Pseudomyxoma Peritonei, that affects only 6 people in the UK.
The funds we raised on the day gave Ann-Marie the opportunity to experience things she never thought she would, making cherished last memories with her family. It also alleviated some of the financial strain that comes with fighting this deadly condition. She sadly lost her battle not long after our fundraiser at the age of just 30.
This year, in memory of Ann-Marie, and in order to support the fight against cancer, we are raising funds for 2 exceptional causes – Sofia & Claire. Sofia Gardella is 5 years old with a very rare genetic condition that destroys her bone marrow. Only 100 people globally have the condition. Claire Grady-Lennon has stage 4 metastatic melanoma in the overies, pelvis, groin breast tissue and brain. The NHS have said they is nothing more they can do for her. Both deserve a little bit of happiness and their families require much-needed support and comfort.
The event will be held at The Lamb, the home of Tamworth Football Club and will consist of 4 tournaments for boys, girls, men and women. There will also be the following too:
– Bouncy castle
– Face painting
– Ice cream van
– Burger Van
– Live DJ
– Top bin penalty shootout game
– Open bar
– Various games
… and much much more.
£50 for a team of 6. Additional players will be charged at £5 per player.
Entrance for the event will be £2 for adults and £1 for children aged 5-15. Family tickets can be purchased for £5 which includes entrance for 2 adults and 2 children. Under 5’s and players are free. All proceeds raised from the day will go to charity.
