Lillian Goodfellow Group of Friends (LGGF)

The Lillian Goodfellow Group of Friends was created by Julie Hayward after the tragic passing of her mother, Lilian Goodfellow in January 1999. Ever since then, Julie Hayward and a group of her friends: Debra Wyatt, Jo Hayward and Tina Jacobs have endeavoured to raise money in the name of Lilian Goodfellow for Marie Curie Hospice in Solihull; a wonderful facility that has continued to help people through difficult times.

All of the money raised goes directly to charity. The first £500 goes to Cancer Research and the remaining money goes to Marie Curie Hospice Solihull who carried out a fantastic job when Julie’s mother was there. They not only look after the patient but also cater for friends, family and even pets.

Its costs £9000 per day to fund the Hospice which is totally donation run with no government funds for support. Jo said, “I think it’s fair to say that Marie Curie now consider the funds we raise each year to be a steady source of income that helps to keep the hospice running on a day to day basis.”

PCS Skydive for HUHO & LGGF

Over the years since the creation of LGGF they have raised money through many mediums, including Car Washes, Assault Courses, their ever popular Ladies Days and Nights, Bike rides and the annual Charity Pink Ball which has sold out this year quicker than ever before.

This will be their 20th year of fundraising and their 19th Pink Ball. Collectively they have raised over £423,000 and are still as passionate about raising money and awareness as they were 20 years ago, having gained fabulous supporters along the way.

Julie Hayward, founder of LGGF said “one of the best supporter’s we’ve gained is Julie Orme. Without her help I personally would be lost.” And it was through Julie Orme, that we found out about LGGF.

Their main aim is to get to £500k in 2019 to celebrate 20 years of fundraising. After seeing what wonderful work LGGF of Friends have achieved over the past 20 years and because of a close tie to the charity through Julie Orme, we have decided to help them reach their target.

Some of the members of staff at Pure Cloud Solutions , our main sponsor, will be taking part in a charity skydive on July 20th with all funds going directly to LGGF. The target is to be able to present LGGF with at least £2500 from this which will hopefully go some small way to helping them reach their target.
